WBTO Skills ProfilesManufacturing, one job at a time
WBTO, LLC · For employers

Rate the jobs you hire for

Two steps. Register your company (two minutes), then rate the skills for each job you hire for (about ten minutes per job). Nothing is attributed to your company.

Draft, pending employer validationEvery profile is a draft until five employers have rated it. Your answers are what make it final.

Step 1 — Register your company

Company, what you make, roughly how many people work there, and who to send the findings to. Two minutes, once.

Step 2 — Find your subsector, rate the jobs

Jobs are grouped by manufacturing subsector (NAICS). Open each job you hire for from your own subsector and rate the level a new hire needs to arrive with. Opening it from your subsector is what lets the results be broken out by industry.

The scale. 0, None: not part of this job. 1, Awareness: has seen it. 2, Competent: can do it with help. 3, Proficient: can do it on their own. Always the level a brand-new hire should walk in with, not what an experienced hand eventually reaches.

Profiles carry the label “draft, pending employer validation” until five employers have rated them. Your rating is what makes a profile final.

Questions we get asked

Who sees my answers?

A small team at WBTO. No school, trade association, agency or other company sees your individual responses. Anything published is combined across at least five companies; where fewer than five answered, we report nothing rather than round.

Is this a sales pitch?

No. Nobody will follow up trying to sell you anything, and we are not recruiting you into a program.

What do you mean by entry level?

Somebody with no work experience in that job. They may have some technical training from a program, they may not. It is the job you would fill with someone who has never done the work before.

Why does it matter what I say?

Because the alternative is that somebody guesses on your behalf. School districts and workforce boards are making equipment and curriculum decisions right now with real money, based on the best information they have. This is how that information becomes yours instead of a guess.

How long does it take?

About ten minutes for one job. If you hire for two roles, twenty.
